Can I become a donor?
Criteria for admission to blood donation:
- Age from 18 years
- Weight from 50 kg and body mass index from 18.5 and not more than 40
- Body temperature 37°C and below
- Pulse from 55 to 95 beats per minute
- Pressure - 90-149 mm Hg (systolic), 60-89 mm Hg (diastolic)
- Absence of contraindications from the list of absolute and temporary contraindications
- You may need a residence permit of at least six months (in some regions, at least a year) in the region of donation. Here you can see the addresses of blood centers that are ready to accept donors without local residence permits.
Absolute contraindications to donation
- Infectious and
parasitic diseases:
- HIV infection,
- hepatitis B and C viruses,
- syphilis, congenital or acquired,
- tuberculosis (all forms),
- brucellosis,
- typhus,
- tularemia,
- leprosy (Hansen's disease),
- African trypanosomiasis,
- Chagas disease,
- leishmaniasis,
- toxoplasmosis,
- babesiosis,
- chronic Q fever,
- echinococcosis,
- filariasis,
- dracunculiasis,
- repeated positive test result for markers of the disease caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV infection), repeated positive test result for markers of viral hepatitis B and C, repeated positive test result for markers of the causative agent of syphilis.
- Malignant neoplasms.
- Diseases of the blood, hematopoietic organs and certain disorders involving the immune mechanism.
- Diseases of the central nervous system (organic disorders).
- Complete lack of hearing and/or speech and/or vision.
- Mental disorders and behavioral disorders in a state of exacerbation and (or) posing a danger to the patient and others.
- Mental and behavioral disorders due to substance use.
- Diseases of the
circulatory system:
- hypertensive heart disease stage II-III,
- ischemic heart disease,
- thromboangiitis obliterans,
- nonspecific aortoarteritis,
- phlebitis and thrombophlebitis,
- endocarditis,
- myocarditis,
- heart defect (congenital, acquired).
- Respiratory
diseases:
- bronchial asthma,
- bronchiectasis,
- emphysema.
- Diseases of the
digestive system:
- achylic gastritis,
- chronic liver diseases, including unspecified,
- toxic liver damage,
- calculous cholecystitis with recurrent attacks and symptoms of cholangitis,
- cirrhosis.
- Diseases of the
genitourinary system in the decompensation stage:
- diffuse and focal kidney lesions,
- urolithiasis.
- Diseases of connective tissue, as well as acute and/or chronic osteomyelitis.
- Radiation sickness.
- Diseases of the endocrine system in the stage of decompensation.
- Diseases of the eye
and its adnexa:
- uveitis,
- iritis,
- iridocyclitis,
- chorioretinal inflammation,
- trachoma,
- myopia 6 diopters or more.
- Diseases of the skin
and subcutaneous tissue:
- psoriasis,
- erythema,
- eczema,
- pyoderma,
- sycosis,
- pemphigus (pemphigus),
- dermatophytosis,
- furunculosis.
- Surgical
interventions:
- resection,
- amputation,
- removal of an organ (stomach, kidney, spleen, ovaries, uterus, etc.),
- transplantation of organs and tissues resulting in permanent loss of ability to work (I and II disability groups),
- xenotransplantation of organs.
- Permanent loss of ability to work (I and II disability groups).
- Female donor for donation of 2 units of red blood cell mass or suspension obtained by apheresis.
- Persons with repeated non-specific reactions to markers of human immunodeficiency viruses, hepatitis B and C, and the causative agent of syphilis.
- Persons with re-detected alloimmune antibodies to red blood cell antigens (except for plasma donors for the production of medicinal products).
- Persons with re-detected extra-agglutinins of anti-A1 (except for plasma donors for the production of medicinal products).
Temporary contraindications to donation
- Body weight less than 50 kg - until body weight reaches 50 kg
- Age under 20 years - for donation of 2 units of red blood cell mass or suspension obtained by apheresis - up to 20 years of age
- Body weight less than 70 kg - for donation of 2 units of red blood cell mass or suspension obtained by apheresis - until body weight reaches 70 kg.
- Hemoglobin less than 140 g/l - for donation of 2 units of red blood cell mass or suspension obtained by apheresis - until the hemoglobin level reaches 140 g/l
- Body temperature above 37 °C - until body temperature returns to normal (37 °C and below)
- Pulse less than 55 beats per minute and more than 95 beats per minute - until the pulse is normalized from 55 to 95 beats per minute
- Blood pressure: systolic less than 90 mmHg and more than 149 mmHg; diastolic — less than 60 mmHg and more than 89 mmHg — until normalization of systolic pressure: 90 - 149 mmHg; diastolic pressure: 60 - 89 mmHg.
- Body mass index - less than 18.5 and more than 40;
- Discrepancy between the results of the ABO blood group, Rh factor, C, c, E, e, K antigens test and the results of the previous donation test - until a confirmatory test is performed;
- Transfusion of blood and (or) its components - 120 calendar days from the date of transfusion;
- Primary detection of alloimmune antibodies to red blood cell antigens in a donor's blood sample - until confirmation of the absence of alloimmune antibodies to red blood cell antigens in the donor's blood sample no earlier than 180 calendar days after the primary detection;
- Surgical interventions, including artificial termination of pregnancy - 120 calendar days from the date of surgery;
- Medical and cosmetic procedures that involve damage to the skin (tattoos, piercings, acupuncture, etc.) - 120 calendar days from the end of the procedures;
- Contact with carriers and patients with viral hepatitis B or C, syphilis, disease caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV infection) - 120 calendar days after the end of the last contact
- A questionable result for markers of viral hepatitis B and/or viral hepatitis C, and/or disease caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV infection), and/or the causative agent of syphilis - until the absence of markers of viral hepatitis B and/or viral hepatitis C, and/or disease caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV infection), and/or the causative agent of syphilis is confirmed, but not earlier than 120 calendar days after receiving the questionable result of the laboratory test
- Past infectious diseases: history of malaria in the absence of symptoms and with negative results of immunological tests - 3 years.
- Typhoid fever after recovery and a complete clinical examination in the absence of pronounced functional disorders - 1 year;
- Tonsillitis, flu, acute respiratory viral infection - 30 calendar days after recovery; Past infectious and parasitic diseases not specified in Sections 1 and 2 of Appendix No. 2 to this order - 120 calendar days after recovery; Acute or chronic inflammatory processes in the acute stage, regardless of localization - 30 calendar days after the acute period has been stopped;
- Exacerbation of gastric ulcer and (or) duodenal ulcer - 1 year from the moment of relief of the acute period;
- Kidney diseases not specified in paragraph 12 of section 2 of Appendix No. 2 to this order - 1 year from the moment of relief of the acute period
- Allergic diseases in the acute stage - 60 calendar days after the acute period has been stopped;
- The period of pregnancy and lactation is 1 year after childbirth, 90 calendar days after the end of lactation;
- Vaccination:
- Vaccination with inactivated vaccines (including against tetanus, diphtheria, whooping cough, paratyphoid, cholera, influenza), toxoids - 10 calendar days after vaccination;
- Vaccination with live vaccines (including against brucellosis, plague, tularemia, tuberculosis, smallpox, rubella, poliomyelitis orally), administration of antitetanus serum (in the absence of pronounced inflammatory phenomena at the injection site) - 30 calendar days after vaccination;
- Vaccination with recombinant vaccines (including against viral hepatitis B, coronavirus infection) - 30 calendar days after vaccination;
- Administration of immunoglobulin against hepatitis B - 120 calendar days after vaccination;
- Administration of immunoglobulin against tick-borne encephalitis - 120 calendar days after vaccination;
- Rabies vaccination - 1 year after vaccination;
- Taking
medications:
- antibiotics - 14 calendar days after completion of treatment;
- analgesics, anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents (including salicylates) - 3 calendar days after the end of administration;
- Alcohol intake - 48 hours;
- Deviation from the limits of the composition and biochemical parameters of peripheral blood (Appendix No. 2 to the Procedure for donors to undergo medical examination) - until the permissible limits of the parameter values are reached, but not earlier than 30 calendar days.
